Cappadocia, Without Feeling Rushed
Our 2-day Cappadocia tour is efficient; this 3-day version is comfortable. The extra day means you can enjoy a full sunrise balloon morning without racing to catch a flight, and add a full day exploring the dramatic Ihlara Valley canyon.
Cappadocia, in the heart of Anatolia, is defined by its surreal volcanic-rock landscape — fairy chimneys, cave dwellings and underground cities carved over thousands of years. This 3-day tour covers all the region's essential sights: the Göreme Open Air Museum, Uçhisar Castle, Pigeon and Devrent Valleys, the pottery town of Avanos and a multi-level underground city.
With a third day added, you'll also explore the Ihlara Valley, a dramatic river canyon lined with rock-cut Byzantine churches — one of Cappadocia's most scenic and least crowded walking routes — along with the nearby Selime Monastery, a striking cliffside complex once home to hundreds of monks.
Two nights in an authentic cave hotel give you time to properly settle into the rhythm of the region, rather than packing everything into a single overnight stay.

Make Your Cappadocia Morning Even More Extraordinary
A sunrise hot-air balloon flight can be added to this tour as an optional experience, subject to weather, availability and timing. Flights generally launch around sunrise, with pickup commonly beginning 60–90 minutes beforehand; flight duration is typically 45–75 minutes, with the full experience including transfers taking approximately 2.5–3.5 hours.
Standard Balloon Flight
A classic sunrise experience suitable for travelers seeking the traditional Cappadocia balloon adventure.
Deluxe Balloon Flight
A more spacious option designed for travelers who value additional comfort and photography space.
Private Balloon Flight

Make the Most of Your 3 Days
Here's how to plan around this itinerary for the smoothest, most rewarding trip.
Use the Extra Day Wisely
The third day's Ihlara Valley hike is a quieter, less-visited contrast to Cappadocia's busier landmarks — don't skip it.
Prioritize Photography
Uçhisar Castle and Devrent Valley offer Cappadocia's strongest golden-hour photo opportunities.
Book the Balloon Flight Early
With two mornings available, you have a built-in weather backup — but slots still fill fast in peak season.
Bring Proper Footwear for Ihlara
The valley floor trail is mostly flat, but sturdy shoes make the walk far more comfortable.
Combine Nature, Culture & History
Göreme's churches, the underground city and Ihlara's monastery together cover Cappadocia's full range.
Pack Light but Layered
Mornings are cool, afternoons are warm — removable layers work better than one heavy jacket.
Accommodation & Transportation

Accommodation: Two nights are spent in a boutique cave-style hotel in the Göreme/Uçhisar area. Standard double or twin rooms are included; upgrades to deluxe cave suites can be arranged.
Transportation: Travel between Istanbul and Cappadocia is by round-trip domestic flight (around 1.5 hours), with all airport transfers included. Within Cappadocia, a private vehicle handles all sightseeing transport, including the drive to Ihlara Valley.
