Two Continents, One Unforgettable Afternoon
Istanbul is the only city on earth spanning two continents — and the only one split by a working sea channel, the Bosphorus. This half-day cruise is the easiest way to see why locals never tire of it. You'll glide through the sheltered Golden Horn, cross into the open Bosphorus for sweeping views of imperial palaces and wooden summer houses (yalıs), pass Rumeli Fortress from the water, then step ashore on the Asian side in the charming village of Kanlıca before finishing at the iconic Maiden's Tower. It's a compact, scenic escape from the crowds of the old city, and a favourite add-on for travelers who want Istanbul's skyline from a completely different angle.

Istanbul Bosphorus Cruise From the Golden Horn
A single, continuous half-day cruise — no long coach transfers, just water, history, and skyline. Tap any stop below to read more about it.
We collect you from your Istanbul hotel and transfer you to the pier. As a natural, extremely secure harbour, the Golden Horn separates the European shore in two. It runs roughly 8 km, giving you an easy first look at both the old and new sides of the city before the boat turns into the open Bosphorus.
One of the largest natural channels on Earth, the Bosphorus lies between the Black Sea and the Sea of Marmara and physically divides Istanbul into its Asian and European halves. Along both banks you'll spot imperial palaces, mosque minarets, and centuries-old wooden summer houses (yalıs) — a completely different perspective on a city most visitors only ever see from land.
Commissioned by Sultan Mehmed II in 1452 — just one year before he conquered Constantinople — Rumeli Fortress (Rumelihisarı) was completed in roughly four months, built specifically to control sea traffic on the Bosphorus from the north. Your guide points it out and shares the story as you pass.
The boat passes beneath the Second Bosphorus Bridge into Kanlıca, a small, laid-back suburb on the Asian side. You're technically still within city limits, but the pace slows right down — it's the perfect spot to stretch your legs, take photos, and try Kanlıca's famous thick yoghurt among the wooden waterfront houses.
The cruise closes at Maiden's Tower (Kız Kulesi), a tiny islet that has served as a lighthouse, a defensive fortress, a tax-collection office, and even a quarantine station across both the Roman and Ottoman eras. Today it's simply the most photographed — and most romantic — silhouette on the Bosphorus. From here we return you to your hotel.
Beylerbeyi Palace is closed on Mondays and Thursdays, and Rumeli Fortress is closed on Wednesdays. On those days, this stop is replaced with extra time at Maiden's Tower.

A few practical, experience-based recommendations to help you plan around this tour — when to book it, what to pair it with, and how to make the most of a half-day on the water.
Best Time of Year
April–June and September–October give the calmest water and the clearest views of the shoreline mansions, with fewer crowds than peak summer.
Best Seats for Photos
Sit on the starboard (right) side heading north for the best angles on Rumeli Fortress and the Bosphorus bridges as you pass beneath them.

What Travelers Say
Sebahattin came highly recommended, and it showed — quick replies to every question, and a custom itinerary built around exactly what our family wanted to see, cutting out the shopping stops we didn't ask for.
We compared several Istanbul operators before booking. Sebahattin answered questions patiently for weeks ahead of the trip, gave honest, realistic advice instead of overselling, and kept pricing straightforward throughout.
We wanted history and culture without it feeling like a lecture, and the balance was exactly right. Language was our biggest worry going in and it was never once an issue on the ground.
